We focus on meeting the needs of our larger community by sponsoring specific events throughout the year. Our outreach includes a yearly coat drive, regular food pantry collections, a biannual blood drive, meal preparation and service for a local shelter, Christmas Clearing Council holiday gift drive, monthly designation of Share the Plate with a local charity, and maintenance of the area UU congregations' Reparations Fund.

Journey Group
Journey Group offers a time for a deeper connection with guided activities, meditations, and intentional listening. Anyone inspired to share their thoughts and feelings is welcome, but it is not required. A free "Soul Matters" packet with a theme for exploring is sent in a weekly email for people to prepare and use throughout the month. This is a drop-in activity, so come whether or not you have read the packet; the important thing is the people!

Chalice Circles
Chalice Circles are closed covenantal groups in which six to eight participants commit to regularly attend, and use materials provided to prepare beforehand. Members are expected to engage with some type of spiritual exercise using either one of the provided suggestions, selections from a list of quotes and questions, or other resources, including books, articles, and various media. As a result, they will share their experience with their chosen spiritual exercise and what insight they may have gained.

Agnostic Study Group
If you identify as being "spiritual, but not religious," this group is for you. If you don't align with any one religious tradition, this group is for you. If you're truly unsure about how it all "plays out" on a grand, existential scale, this group is for you! Here, we explore big topics, ask tough questions, and learn together what the many religious and wisdom traditions of the world have to offer. We meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 6:30pm.

Dances of Universal Peace
The Dances of Universal Peace are a spiritual practice that involves learning simple chants and moving with natural rhythms. Participants collectively experience a form of prayer that comes from deep sources of wisdom, through the body as a channel, and develop their connections to both the sacred whole and each one’s truest self.

Threads United
Threads United is a fellowship that focuses on quilt-making. We have presented quilt shows to the congregation and donated many quilts to service organizations, offering comfort to others. Currently, we provide quilts to Wheaton Franciscan St. Joseph Campus - Women's Outpatient Center for the maternity and birthing center. No special skills are needed to join our caring and sharing group. Threads United welcomes everyone!

Spend time with others over a meal by participating in Circle Suppers! This is a great way to meet United members and guests. We especially encourage new members, visitors, and friends of United to join.
